Karen Starrett, Teaching Artist

Creative Aging Arts workshops provide older adults the opportunity to discover or rediscover their creative capacities. Each workshop is based on a person-centered approach allowing participants’ vision to arise from individual choice. This approach encourages each person to determine the result of what they are creating as an expression of what is personal to her/him.

The art activities celebrate individual expression, are meaningful, and provide pleasure. The Creative Aging Arts curriculum includes painting, collage, printmaking, and mixed media. All art materials are water based, non-toxic and of professional quality.

Creative Aging Arts workshops are designed for:

Independent adults — senior centers and adult communities

Assisted Living and Nursing facilities
