From the Guest-Curators:

“The most general definition of beauty - multeity in unity.” - Samuel Taylor Coleridge

The word “multeity” by definition, usually refers to things uncountable, varied, or consisting of many parts. We have thoroughly considered this, and taken Coleridge’s view to heart in curating an evening of intentionally eclectic musical genres, styles and sounds, along with interactive art designed to unite a room comprised mostly of strangers. We’ve built the evening around beautiful music from jazz pianist Timothy Ogunbiyi; soulful harmonies and candid lyrics from indie folk duo DeepWhine; unique layering from vocal looping artist Martin Howth; punky, grungy rock and roll from Candace Schur; Soul Asylum-inspired, 90’s reminiscent originals from Bob Linton (accompanied by Angel Palmieri and Charlie Krause); and edgy-pop progressive rock from Ross Owen. The night wouldn’t be complete without the work of our featured visual artist, Alex Jackson, who will be asking for audience participation for a series of portraits to be taken over the course of the show. Many thanks to our friend, Sun Lite, for warming up the mic, and setting the tone for the evening.

--------------------------------------------------------- The Songwriters Showcase is an evening of original music and art in the Listening Room. All the attention in a listening room format is focused on that artists so we can truly absorb their music and message.
